Hail doesn't give you a warning. One storm rolls through and suddenly you're dealing with cracked shingles, compromised flashing, and a roof that's no longer doing its job. That's exactly what this Marble Falls homeowner was up against - and we came in to fix it the right way.
We started with a full tear-off. Everything came down so we could get a clear look at the deck before anything new went on. We laid down CraftGrade W20 synthetic underlayment across the entire surface - that's your first real line of defense against moisture before a single shingle goes on. It's a step that a lot of crews rush through, and we don't.
For the shingles, we upgraded this homeowner to impact-resistant laminated shingles. These aren't your standard 3-tab shingles. They're built to handle the kind of punishment that Texas storms throw at roofs on a regular basis. The goal isn't just to fix what hail broke - it's to make sure the next storm doesn't put you back in the same spot.
We also handled the chimney flashing from scratch. Custom-fit metal flashing was installed tight to the masonry on all sides. Chimney penetrations are one of the most common sources of leaks after a roof replacement, so this isn't a detail we skip. The crew fitted and secured each piece carefully before wrapping up that section of the job.
The finished roof sits clean and tight from edge to ridge. If a hail storm caught your roof off guard and you're not sure what kind of shape it's in, a free inspection is a solid first step.
